Wounded Knee
The "Battle" at Wounded Knee was not really a battle. It was a massacre. The Native Americans had done nothing to cause a battle and most of them did not even have weapons to depend themselves with. While watching the movie, I was thinking that I was embarassed and ashamed to admit I was American after what they did. Especially after telling the children they would be safe if they came out from their hiding spots, then shot them.

I agree with you, It was horible that they killed men women and children even after they said they would be safe. Its amazing what people will do when they dont like other people isn't it? How do you feel about the value of language and native americans or indians?
I agree, I was embarassed to be a European-descended American, too. It's like they've tried to cover this part of our history up and say we helped the nice Native Americans with Thanksgiving or something - no. We were completely unfair to them and it's not okay. Thumbs up.

I agree completely with you. It should not be considered a battle but a merciless, bloody massacre of hundreds of innocent Native Americans. I was also embarassed while watching the movie we watched in class but moreso it was depressing and shameful for our American ancestors to have done what they did. It was horrible to watch and I fully agree with what you've said.
